Unit-linked insurance plans (ULIPs) offer the investors a dual advantage. One is of pure life insurance and the other advantage of investment as it is a market-linked product. It is a mix of insurance and investment for the investor. There is a lock-in period of five years. Investors can choose from a variety of funds, based on the risk intake and the future goals of the investor. Insurance companies also offer the option to switch between funds. There a number of free switches given to the investor and after that the insurance company charges for making any switch.

Benefits of ULIPs

As mentioned above, premium paid by the investor is invested in a diversity of funds chosen by the investors under ULIPs. It is a method to put in a small amount of money in the market for a long period of time. Investors prefer ULIPs to invest in the market and reap the benefits of compounding growth. There are many benefits to invest in ULIPs. We will discuss a few of them below:
