World Heart Day – know how to safeguard your heart naturally
On 29th September, 2018, the World Heart Day is being observed and it serves as the World Heart Federation’s biggest platform for emphasizing heart-health. Heart disorders are on the rise globally due to a host of reasons. Unhealthy and fast-paced lifestyle, chronic stress at workplace and in personal lives, pollution, unhealthy food habits, lack of exercise, smoking, etc. are among the many reasons that contribute towards this issue. The main theme for this year’s World Heart Day is rooted in “My heart, your heart” and calls upon every one of us to make a promise for better heart care for the rest of our lives.
Heart conditions are dependent upon a variety of factors and more often than not, it is the individual carelessness and wrong choices that lead to poor heart health. The problem is huge indeed – any serious heart disorder can prove fatal if not treated well in time. But the treatment itself is complicated, expensive and robs one of years of hard-earned money and financial resources. After significant research in heart-related diseases and treatment, the role of natural methods has become very clear and optimistic. Natural way of life is the best way ahead for us to safeguard our heart from various diseases. Here are some important natural methods that can safeguard our heart:
Reduce the intake of sugar and processed carbohydrates:
Inflammation of heart muscles is at the root of almost every major heart trouble and consuming too much sugar and processed carbohydrates in one important reason for it. Reduce this intake for a healthy and strong heart.
Consume healthy, cholesterol-free fats:
By opting to consume more healthy fats from sources like avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, nuts, seeds, and chemical-free butter etc., you can ensure that the heart muscles stay lubricated and protected against internal inflammation. This is very important given the role of inflammation in the incidence f heart disorders.
Avoid consumption of trans-fats and cholesterol-inducing fats:
Fats from the sources like vegetable and canola oils, corn and soybean oils etc. must be avoided at all costs since these are acute sources of unhealthy, trans-fats and cholesterol. These harmful fats make deposits on the heart muscles and if not checked, can even lead to congestion or blockage in the arteries.
Consume lean proteins and anti-oxidants:
There is a reason why proteins like Omega 3 and lean proteins from sources like organic poultry, seafood, eggs, etc. are often called “essential” proteins. This is because these proteins are required by our body to ensure muscle development and repair. Moreover, you should also consume anti-oxidants present in sources like green tea, cardamom, cinnamon, lemon, citrus fruits and vitamins present in green veggies and apples etc. regularly. Increase the amount of fluid intake (including water and vegetable juices etc.) for better results.
Regular workout, yoga and meditation:
Regular workouts and yoga help the body in de-stressing and this is a big relief when it comes to avoiding the risk of heart disorders as stress is one of the prime reasons of heart disorders.
