Behind the Journey – Nitu Ghanghas

In the world of boxing, hearts are tested with furious fists. Every once in a while, there emerges a champion whose journey is nothing short of being an inspiration to others. Nitu Ghanghas is that champion. 

Coming from the humble village of Dhanana in Haryana, Nitu's journey to becoming the Women's World Boxing Champion in 2023 is inspiring. "The easiest thing to do is to dream; the difficult part is making it come true” says Nitu. 

While the path wasn’t easy, her father helped her pave her own way. He backed her up and made significant sacrifices like quitting his job and selling off their ancestral land. 

Nitu always believed that she had two goals. One was to win a maximum number of medals for her country. The other is to create a financial nest for herself and her family. She made sure that a part of her prize money from various tournaments goes towards her savings. 

The journey to achieving her dreams isn’t as easy as it may seem. Nitu believes without discipline, she will not be able to meet either of her goals.
